Case Study - Edinburgh Fringe

We have looked after the biggest single venue at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for a number of years. We also look after the London theatre for this company year round.

Every year, in Edinburgh, we plan and install a complex network across two sites in the city. We plan, install a completely temporary infrastructure, commission the systems, train users, maintain and manage the whole setup for a month and then disassemble and pack everything away to secure storage, ready for the next year.

The setup includes:

  • 3 Box offices
  • Standalone Automated Ticket Collection Kiosks
  • Ticket Collection Facility
  • Management Offices
  • Fully Integrated PBX Telephone Facility
  • Call Centre
  • Remote Access to London Servers and Ticketing Servers
  • Press Office
  • Media Suite
  • Blanket WIFI across 2 Sites - Including Public WIFI
  • 4 CCTV Networks
  • Internet to Various Performing Stages
  • Large Format Information Screens

We deploy a vast array of kit for this infrastructure - Each Box Office position runs on a Raspberry Pi, has a ticket printer, Credit card terminal and RFID reader. All Call Centre positions are also run on Raspberry Pi's

We run a combination of Analogue and IP phones across the sites and manage the portfolio of lines and numbers associated with the event.

The London Theatre has a permanent infrastructure which includes WIFI, including Public services, A Server Room, CCTV and network. We support all hardware and software on site.

We work closely, in Edinburgh and London, with Ticketing provider Red61.
